Oversight you can evidence, not just assert.
beò helps organisations show that their AI systems are overseen by humans in fact, not just on paper, with the measurement rigour of a research practice.
Three ways we work
Governance claims are measurement claims. We treat them that way: with instruments, evidence, and published methods.
Oversight assessment
We assess whether the people accountable for an AI system can actually detect when it is wrong, interpret what it is doing, and intervene in time, and we document it as evidence.
Cognitive-impact measurement
Longitudinal measurement of how AI adoption changes the way a workforce thinks, decides, and collaborates, using validated instruments rather than satisfaction surveys.
Governance-claim evaluation
Research-grade scrutiny of the claims made about an AI system’s safety, fairness, or human control: do the instruments behind them measure what they say they measure?
We publish what we find, including the null results.
beòLAB is our research arm. Every study is pre-registered on the Open Science Framework before data collection, and the findings are published whether or not they confirm the hypothesis. The discipline is the point: an instrument that does not measure what it claims produces governance that does not govern.
Our 2020 study found that a widely used smartphone-usage scale failed to predict people’s actual device behaviour. That measurement-validity finding is the foundation of how beò evaluates governance claims today.
